Mission Statement:

Our mission is to serve and act on behalf of the educational needs and rights of young children. We strive to promote and enhance their personal, social and emotional development and to assist them in reaching their highest potential.

LAAEYC's Mission focuses on the following Goals:

  1. Supporting, sponsoring and conducting educational seminars, symposia and related functions aimed at improving the professional skill and competence of teachers, parents and others involved in the education of young children.
  2. Dissemination of educational information to all of those people involved in the lives of children including technical innovations and legislative and regulatory developments.
  3. Insuring that LAAEYC functions as an affiliate (a liaison) of NAEYC.
Vision Statement:

Our vision is a community in which all children have the opportunity to participate in high quality early childhood programs and that all individuals who are associated with children will have the educational, financial support and recognition they need and deserve.
